Degree Programs

The examination regulations for mid term, final examination,surprise quizzes and assignments throughout the semester is governed by Girne American University guidelines which will be issued from time to time. The following passing grades shall be used.

The letter grades denote the following:-

95-100% -> Grade A
90-94% -> Grade A-
85-89% -> Grade B+
80-84% -> Grade B
77-79% -> Grade B-
74-76% -> Grade C+
70-73% -> Grade C
67-69% -> Grade C-
64-66% -> Grade D+
60-63% -> Grade D
50-59% -> Grade D-
-0-49% -> Failed

Grade point average (GPA) is computed at the end of the course for all students. Final letter grades are converted into grade points in each course on the following basis: -

Grade B+ Grade Points 3.3
Grade B Grade Points 3.0
Grade B- Grade Points 2.7

Other Examinations

The following authorities can conduct examinations for the programs offered at BIZTEK.

(S.B.T.E.) Sindh Board of Technical Education

Students enrolled in the courses authorized by S.B.T.E. will appear for the exams scheduled by them. Students will have to fill in the registration forms of S.B.T.E. through BIZTEK, accompanied with the required fees of S.B.T.E. in order to get registered.

(VUE) Virtual University Enterprises

The online testing facility is available at BIZTEK so that leading IT Certification exams can be conducted at our Campus. We are fully equipped and facilitated to conduct the online testing in the best possible environment. Therefore the students have the facility of either getting registered directly at BIZTEK or at www.vue.com.

(BIZTEK) Institute of Business & Technology

Students, who get enrolled for BIZTEK programs, will be taught the in-house certification programs at our Campus and the exams will be conducted by our own faculty. On completing the exams Successfully, BIZTEK will issue the certificates to the students.

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Attendance

A minimum of 80 percent of attendance is required in all theory and practical classes. No one will be allowed to sit in the examination, if he has not attended the prescribed minimum limit.

Courses of Studies

The details of course of studies with credit hours in each semester is available as prescribed by the Institute.

The candidate is required to clear all semester courses for the degree program.

Withdrawal from a Semester

Students are allowed to withdraw from one course in a semester if he is sick or if such withdrawal will help him in performing better in the remaining courses. Withdrawal is not treated as failure but the student cannot abstain more than four times from appearing in the course. He will be awarded 'F' in such cases.

Grade Point Average (GPA)

A student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.2, subject to less than 2Fs, 2ls or 2Ws. Any course with Grade C or less may be repeated for improvement.

A student securing GPA of less than 2.0 shall be dropped from the rolls of the institute.

The GPA is computed at the end of each semester. CGPA for undergraduate degree should not be less than 2.50 and for graduate program it should not be less than 3.0 in order to get a GAU degree.

Discipline

Disciplinary rules and regulations of BIZTEK must be adhered to. Punctuality and attendance are pre-requisites to appear in the examination. A high standard of decency is expected from students.

Breakage of rules may result in cancellation of admission from the institute. Disciplinary rules include action against

> Dis-respect towards teachers and staff
> Unfair means adopted in examination
> Destruction of equipment and property
> Political activities of any nature
> Use of Drugs and carrying of weapons
> Cheating, copying plagiarism, forgery of authorized signature
> Non-display of Students Card
> Smoking inside the Campus Buildings
